Find Resources for Persuasive/Argumentative Essays and Speeches

Introduction

In an argumentative essay or speech, you are asked to research a particular topic, collect, organize and evaluate evidence, and then build an argument supporting your position on the topic. At MVCC, this is a common assignment in EN 101 and EN 150 classes.

This guide contains helpful tips to:

1. Develop a topic

2. Find sources to use as evidence to support your argument

3. Learn more about persuasive writing and speaking

4. Get help from a librarian
