Small Group Activity: Credible Sources

1. Glance at each source (no more than 10 seconds). What is your "gut feeling" or initial reaction to the source? Do you know why you feel that way?

2. Google each source. Try both the title and the author(s).

3. Skim through the first page or two of Google results. Click on a few results to see what they say. What did you learn? How does what you see affect your initial "gut feeling" about each article?

4. Rank the 3 sources in order of credibility. Which, if any, of the three sources would you use in a college paper?

Source 1:

Vitamin A Deficiency and Sleep Disturbances related to Autism Symptoms in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Cross-Sectional Study

Source 2:

What is autism?

Source 3:

Acetaminophen, antibiotics, ear infection, breastfeeding, vitamin D drops, and autism: an epidemiological study
